# `eth_syncing`

Returns an object with data about the sync status or `false`. This method uses [5 credits](/services/get-started/pricing/) from your daily balance.

## Returns[​](#returns "Direct link to Returns")

- `sync status`: (boolean) Returns `false` only when not syncing.
- `sync blocks`:  
  - `startingBlock`: A hexadecimal equivalent the integer indicating the block at which the import started (will only be reset after the sync reaches the head).
  - `currentBlock`: A hexadecimal equivalent the integer indicating the current block, same as [eth_blockNumber](/services/reference/ethereum/json-rpc-methods/eth%5Fblocknumber/).
  - `highestBlock`: A hexadecimal equivalent the integer indicating the highest block.
